New Orleans Zephyrs Defeat Round Rock Express with Walk-Off Homer by Michael Abreu - PCL

SeatSub Challenge 2008 Contest

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - One night after their highest run output of the season, the Zephyrs  found themselves locked in a pitchers duel.

Michel Abreu brought an abrupt end to that duel in the 10th inning  with the eighth walk-off homer in Zephyr Field history.

Abreu sent a towering drive over the wall in left-center field with  one out in the 10th to give the Z's a 3-2 win over the Round Rock  Express on Friday. It gave New Orleans back-to-back wins for the  first time in nearly two weeks, brought them a season-high four  games above .500, and improved their record in extra-inning contests  to a perfect 4-0.

Starters Tony Armas and Josh Muecke battled to a 1-1 draw through  six and a half innings, before the Zephyrs broke through against  Round Rock reliever Chad Paronto. Jesus Feliciano drew a one-out  walk and stole second, and one out later, scored on a sharply-hit  grounder by Argenis Reyes that scooted under the glove of Express  third baseman Mark Saccomanno.

Round Rock came back to tie the score in the eight against Willie  Callazo, after Yordany Ramirez led off with a triple into the right  field corner, and scored on a sacrifice fly by J.R. House.

Carlos Muniz pitched a perfect 10th inning to pick up his first win.  Muniz has now pitched 9.2 scoreless innings this season between New  Orleans and the New York Mets.

Nick Regilio (1-1) took the loss after serving up Abreu's home run.

After the Zephyrs committed four errors last night, the Express had  five miscues tonight, giving them 13 in six games against New  Orleans this season.
