Hagerstown Suns-Greensboro Grasshoppers Game Suspended with Tie Through Five - Advanced A, South Atlantic League
Monday, April 28, 2008 at 08:44AM MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Greensboro, N.C. – After five complete innings Sunday’s game was suspended in a 2-2 tie as the rains in the Greensboro area continued Sunday; the game, which started nearly an hour late for the same reason, will be resumed in Hagerstown with the official time and date still to be determined.
Hagerstown scored early with runs in the first and second innings and held its 2-0 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth. Looking to get through the bottom half of the fifth and make the game official, the Suns stumbled, giving up two walks, two hits and two runs to even the game before it went into a delay.
After a brief rain delay, the umpires suspended the game; it will be resumed in its entirety during one of Greensboro’s remaining two trips to Hagerstown this season.
The Hoppers collected both of their runs in the fifth inning second-baseman Danny Garcia drove in both runs with the second Greensboro hit of the inning. Shortstop

Stuart Alexander (3-1, 3.70) started on the mound for Greensboro and tossed all five innings while giving up both Hagerstown runs, only one was earned, and striking out six Suns batters.
Greensboro will use Monday as a travel day before playing their next eight games on the road---four in Lake County and four in Hagerstown. The Hoppers return home on May 8 and will host the Lake County Captains and the Lakewood BlueClaws as part of an eight-game homestand.
