Huntsville Stars Defeat Jacksonville Suns 7-2 - Southern League
Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 01:00PM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - HUNTSVILLE, ALA. – After completing Sunday’s game with a walk off homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning for a 10-9 win, the Huntsville Stars (17-8) scored early and often against the Jacksonville Suns (10-15) in the Monday series finale for a 7-2 win in front of 972 at Joe Davis Stadium.
In Sunday’s completed game, Huntsville’s Juan Sandoval (1-0) picked up the relief win while Tanyon Sturtze (0-1) fell in the loss for Jacksonville. The originally scheduled Monday game saw Sam Narron (4-1) pick up the victory for the Stars while Mario Alvarez (0-3) fell for Jacksonville. Huntsville’s Patrick Ryan (3) picked up a three-inning save.

ADVERTISEMENT Huntsville started the scoring in the first inning as Chris Errecart singled home Mat Gamel with two out for a 1-0 lead. Pitcher Sam Narron helped his own cause in the second inning, belting a two-run homerun over the right field wall opening a 3-0 advantage. The Stars added a fourth run in the third inning as a bases loaded walk of Guilder Rodriguez opened a 4-0 lead.
The Suns got on the board in the fourth inning, as a two-out error allowed Andy LaRoche to score for a 4-1 score. Jacksonville got within two runs in the fifth inning, scoring on a sacrifice pop out from James Tomlin for a 4-2 Huntsville lead.
The Stars ran away with the game in the sixth inning, when a bases loaded single from Errecart scored Michael Brantley. On the play, the ball got through Jamie Hoffmann in right field allowing two more runners to score for a 7-2 Stars lead.
