Rancho Cucamonga Quakes Looking for Win, Still Lose 8-1 to Stockton Ports - Adv A, California League

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Rancho Cucamonga, CA -  The Quakes entered Monday night’s game having played Bakersfield and Stockton for 13 straight days and had only won one game. Not much would change as the Quakes’ starter Amalio Diaz cruised through the first two innings, but hit a road block in the third, allowing four straight hits and four runs to score. Archie Gilbert had a two-run triple, Josh Horton had an RBI single and Chris Carter added an RBI single to give Stockton a 4-0 lead.

Rancho would answer in the third. After a lead off walk to Abel Nieves, with one out Anderson Rosario walked, and Peter Bourjos doubled down the left field line to bring home the Quakes lone run.

Stockton got a two-run home run from Jed Morris in the sixth off of Diaz and another two-run homer from Matt Sulentic in the ninth against reliever Felipe Arredondo to make the score 8-1 Ports.

Marco Albano turned in a nice outing in relief for the Quakes going two scoreless innings and Brian Walker continues to swing the bat well going 2x4 to raise his team high batting average to .343.
