Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 10:06AM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Omaha - 5 Sacramento - 7 Box Score attached. - West Sacramento , Calif. – The Sacramento River Cats continued their success at home on Monday night, winning 7-5 against the Omaha Royals to begin an 8-game homestand at Raley Field. The River Cats have now won six consecutive games at Raley Field. The River Cats are currently in first place in the Pacific Coast League Pacific South standings, one game up on the Las Vegas 51s. Sacramento fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning on a three-run home run by Omaha ’s Matt Tupman off Sacramento starter Kirk Saarloos. The River Cats rallied back on Kevin Melillo’s two-run home run in the bottom of the first and scored five more runs in the second inning on four hits, two walks and a wild pitch. Saarloos earned the win, throwing five innings and allowing five earned runs. Brooks Conrad had his 11-game hitting streak snapped after finishing 0-for-4. Sacramento outfielder Carlos Gonzalez left the game in the second inning after rolling his ankle on the base paths. It was the first game back for Gonzalez, who missed five games with a contusion on his left hand.
