Memphis Redbirds Open Up 2008 Season Against the Oklahoma Redhawks

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Redbirds will open their 2008 Pacific Coast League campaign on Thursday night at Oklahoma.
 
The Memphis roster boasts nine of the top 30 prospects in the St. Louis Cardinals organization, including the top prospects in outfielder Colby Rasmus and right-hander Chris Perez. The team returns 11 players that received action for the Redbirds last season with seven free agents and seven players promoted from within the organization rounding out the roster. 
 
Manager Chris Maloney returns for his second season with the ‘Birds and will be joined by new pitching coach Blaise Ilsley and new hitting coach Mark Budaska. Athletic trainer Chris Conroy enters his fourth season with club.
