Charlotte Knights Top Norfolk Tides 3-1 - AAA, International League

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com -

FORT MILL, S.C. – Spongebob Squarepants has nothing on Charlotte 1B Jeff Eldred. In front of over 3,000 screaming 5th graders and with the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 9th, Eldred sent the crowd of kids into a frenzy with a two-run home run to give the Knights a 3-1 victory over Norfolk.

The Knights got another strong pitching performance from Lance Broadway (3-1, 1.25) who went eight innings, giving up just five hits and striking out six. Jason Childers (1-0, 1.00) came in to relieve Broadway and picked up his first win of the season.

Jim Miller (0-1, 7.71) took the loss for the Tides.
