Nashville Sound Start First Losing Streak of Season at Hands of New Orleans Zephyrs in 7-5 Loss

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – The New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the visiting Nashville Sounds on Friday by a score of 7-5 to run their record to 2-0 to start the season.


Third baseman Fernando Tatis hit his second and third homers of the season to lead the way for New Orleans. Both were solo shots.

Left fielder Chris Aguila knocked in a two-run homer to add to the offense.

Right fielder Jesus Feliciano went a perfect 4-4 batting in the game, and also drove in a run.

Reliever Jose Santiago (1-0) picked up the win for the Zephyrs, giving up only one hit and no runs in one inning. Starter Tony Armas gave up nine hits but only three runs in five innings.

Carlos Muniz got his second save of the season after no-hitting the Sounds in the final inning.

Reliever Jason Shiell (0-1) recorded the loss for Nashville, giving up three runs on four hits in 1.1 innings.

The teams will square off again on Saturday in Game 3 of their four-game set, first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 PM CT.
