Durham Bulls Blank Richmond Braves 2-0 - International League
Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 10:25AM Dan Johnson scored the first of two runs for the Bulls as he doubled then scored on a sacrifice fly by Reid Brignac in the third. Their second and final run came in the eighth inning on an RBI single by Joel Guzman. The Braves were held scoreless for the third time in the 2008 season, twice by the Bulls.
Mitch Talbot up the win picked up the win as he struck out six in eight innings and gave up no runs. Dale Thayer collected the save. Mike Hampton took the loss in his second start for Richmond while on Major League Rehab. He went 3 1/3 innings striking out four, walking two and giving up just one earned run. Chuck James took over for Hampton and gave up one earned run, two walks and struck out two in 4 2/3 innings. Elliot Johnson and Guzman each had two hits for the Bulls.
