Lake County Captains Hand Greensboro Grasshoppers Ninth Straight Home Loss - SAL

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Greensboro, N.C. Saturday’s game was a memorable one for Greensboro starter Kyle Kaminska , but for all the wrong reasons.

Lake County turned a 9-0 victory into an extended batting practice session and made Kaminska the recipient of Greensboro ’s ninth consecutive home loss after the righty gave up seven runs on 11 hits in his season debut.

Offensively, the Hoppers were never able to get in a groove and scattered just five hits throughout the contest.

Mike Stanton collected two of Greensboro ’s five hits and Tom Hickman extended his current consecutive games on-base streak to 16 with his fifth-inning single. Ryan Curry and Ryan Anetsberger also had hits in the loss.

Kaminska and the Hoppers’ pitching staff were tagged with a season-high 17 hits including three-hit performances by the Captains’ Roman Pena, Matt Brown, and Ronald Rivas, who was added to the Lake County roster just hours before game time.
