Los Angeles Angels Farm Report

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - LOS ANGELES - Here’s a look at how the Angels’ farm system fared in yesterday’s action:
 

SALT LAKE BEES (Class AAA) - Pacific Coast League - Record 30-8, 1st
The Salt Lake Bees’ five-game win streak was snapped with a 12-5 loss to the Round Rock Express (Houston affiliate).  The Bees’ pitching corps gave up 18 hits in the loss.  RHP Shane Loux (5-3) started and went 5.2 innings, allowing seven runs on 10 hits and two walks with four strikeouts.  LF Adam Pavkovich had two hits, including a home run, and three RBI.    
ARKANSAS TRAVELERS (Class AA) - Texas League - Record 16-22, 3rd
        The Arkansas Travelers won their third straight game with a 5-4 comeback win over the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis affiliate).  The Travelers trailed 4-0 with two outs in the eighth inning before tallying two runs in the eighth and three in the ninth for the walk-off win.  CF Adam Greenberg, who had two hits and two RBI, singled to drive home

= the winning run.  DH Ben Johnson also collected two hits, including a home run to lead off the ninth.  SS Hainley Statia added two doubles and a RBI.  RHP Anthony Ortega started and allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits and no walks with six strikeouts in seven innings.  RHP Bill Edwards pitched a perfect eighth and RHP Steve Marek (1-2) earned the win with two strikeouts in a perfect ninth.
RANCHO CUCAMONGA QUAKES (Class A) - California League - Record 16-23, 4th
        
        The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes snapped their three-game losing streak with an 8-7 win over the High Desert Mavericks (Seattle affiliate).  1B Mark Trumbo had two doubles and four RBI to lead the Quakes offensively.  SS Darwin Perez also doubled twice.  RHP Tommy Mendoza (2-3) went six innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk with four strikeouts.  RHP Ryan Aldridge earned his first save after striking out the side in the ninth.
CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS (Class A) - Midwest League - Record 18-19, 4th
        Three Kernels’ pitchers combined on a three-hit shutout as the Cedar Rapids Kernels posted a 2-0 win over the Kane County Cougars (Oakland affiliate).   The win snapped Cedar Rapids’ three-game losing skid.  RHP Jordan Walden (2-3) started and allowed just one hit and one walk with six strikeouts.  RHP Eddie McKiernan pitched the next two innings, allowing two hits and striking out three.  RHP Ismael Carmona earned his second save with a one-walk, one-strikeout ninth.  The Kernels collected eight hits, including two by SS Andrew Romine.
