MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Memphis, Tenn. – Memphis picked up a walk-off home run from Joe Mather Thursday night to beat Oklahoma 6-4 in 12 innings at AutoZone Park.

Mather belted the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the 12th inning over the left field wall to give the Redbirds the victory. Brian Barden led the ‘Birds with three hits, including a single in the final frame. Mark Johnson chipped in a pair of hits and had a two-run single in the sixth to put Memphis on top. However, the club’s catcher left the game in the bottom of the ninth inning after being hit by a pitch.

Nelson Cruz paced Oklahoma’s 13-hit attack with three hits of his own. Cruz scored the tying run in the ninth inning after a leadoff triple. Jason Botts put the RedHawks on top in the first inning with a two-run shot to right field. Kazuo Fukumori took the loss after giving up Mather’s home run.
