Memphis Redbirds Surrounded by Salt Lake Bees who Take Win Easily 9-0 - AAA, Pacific Coast League

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - The Salt Lake Bees closed out their series in Memphis with a 9-0 win over the Redbirds on Thursday night.  Starting pitcher Nick Green was outstanding as he tossed six and two-third scoreless innings for the win.  Green (3-0) allowed just five hits with four strikeouts and three walks.  Rich Thompson worked the final two and one-third innings and gave up two hits with two strikeouts and one walk, as the Bees' pitching staff authored their league leading fifth shutout of the season.

Kendry Morales provided the early offense, as he belted a first inning grand slam to put Salt Lake out in front.  Reggie Willits singled to open the game.  Brad Coon and Freddy Sandoval each walked to load the bases before Morales drilled an 0-1 pitch from Blake Hawksworth over the right field wall. Willits and Terry Evans each had three hits to lead the Bees' fourteen hit attack.  Coon added two hits to extend his on-base streak to twenty-four straight games.
