Friday, May 2, 2008 at 09:16AM MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Tacoma, WA - Jeremy Reed drilled a two run home run in the sixth inning and Rainier starting pitcher Andy Baldwin pitched six solid innings to lead Tacoma to a 3-2 win on Thursday night at Cheney Stadium. Baldwin allowed a lead off hit in the first inning and didn’t not allow another until the sixth, he faced the minimum through five innings. The Rainiers scored a run off of a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning to take a 1-0 lead. Reed drilled the two run shot in the sixth to make the score 3-0. The Z;s scored a run on a wild pitch in the seventh inning off of the starter Baldwin. The Z’s threatened in the ninth scoring a run off of one hit, two walks and three Tacoma wild pitches. Roy Corcoran struck out Chris Agulia for the final out. The former Z closer earned his first save with Tacoma. The Rainiers had a total of four wild picthes in the game. Tony Armas pitched well allowing three runs on four hits but took the loss. The Z’s split the four game set with Tacoma.

Game Notes: The Zephyrs completed their best April ever with 16 wins …. Carlos Muniz picked up his third save by recording the final five outs last night … Between New Orleans and the Mets, has pitched 11.1 consecutive scoreless innings to start the year. Victor Mendez eight game hit streak was snapped, the longest by a Zephyr this season …
