Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 09:42AM MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Bowie, MD –Lou Montanez had four extra-base hits and tallied four RBI as the Baysox extended their win streak to a season-high eight games. Carlos Rojas reached base four times and both Montanez and Jeff Nettles homered in the 8-4 victory.
Lou Montanez gave the Baysox an early lead, tripling in the first inning to drive in Carlos Rojas. He would add a doubles in the third and sixth innings before hitting a two-run homerun to left in the top of the ninth inning.
The SeaWolves tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning. Wilkin Ramirez and Justin Justice both singled to start the inning. Baysox starter Jason Berken got Ryan Roberson to ground into a double play, but a two-out throwing error by Blake Davis allowed Ramirez to score.
The Baysox would take the lead again in the top of the third when Nolan Reimold singled to drive in Carlos Rojas. In the top of the fourth inning, Carlos Rojas hit a two-out single to center, driving in Mike Rodriguez and giving the Baysox a 3-1 lead. Jeff Nettles added to the lead when he led off the top of the fifth inning with a homerun to center field. Lou Montanez gave the Baysox another insurance run in the sixth, doubling to right to drive in Mike Rodriguez.
Erie scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the Baysox lead down to 5-4. Danny worth led off the inning with a single to left and moved to second on a groundout by Deik Scram. Worth scored on a two-out single by Justin Justice and Ryan Roberson hit a two run homerun to right-center field. Ryan Keefer came out to relieve Jason Berken and got Max St. Pierre to fly out to end the inning.
Bowie added three more runs in the top of the ninth inning on a two-run homerun by Lou Montanez and an RBI singled by Brian Peterson. Ryan Keefer, Gerrardo Casadiego and Julio Manon combined to pitch 3.1 scoreless innings in relief and Jason Berken earned his fourth consecutive win.
