Fort Wayne Wizards Make Loons Pretty Much Disappear with a 9-3 Win - A, Midwest League

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - FORT WAYNE, IN – The Fort Wayne Wizards snapped a 3-all tie in the bottom of the fifth inning with two runs off Loons reliever Matt Sartor to defeat the Great Lakes Loons, 9-3, Friday night. The Wizards tacked on four runs in the eighth.

Fort Wayne has now won four of the five meetings between the two teams and has leapfrogged the Loons into fourth place in the Midwest League East. The Loons struck for two unearned runs in the first two innings on three errors committed by the Wizards.

Fort Wayne struck for three runs in the third to take the lead, highlighted by a two-run single by Drew Cumberland. Alex Garabedian drove in Andrew Lambo in the fifth to tie the game at 3-3.

The Wizards struck for two in the fifth to take the lead on a single by Andy Parrino and a sacrifice fly by Justin Baum. The Loons out-hit the Wizards in the game, 12-11.

Travis Vetters had two hits, both doubles. Lambo, Garabedian, Parker Dalton and Brian Mathews all recorded multi-hit games.
