Los Angeles Angels Daily Farm Report

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - SALT LAKE BEES (Class AAA) - Pacific Coast League - Record 24-2, 1st
The Salt Lake Bees pounded out 15 hits and got outstanding pitching in a 10-0 win over the Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis affiliate).  RHP Nick Green (3-0) and RHP Rich Thompson combined on Salt Lake’s league-leading fifth shutout of the season.  Green scattered three hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 6.2 scoreless innings.  Thompson pitched the final 2.1 innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out two.  OF Reggie Willits, who was recalled to the Angels after the game, went 4-for-5 and 1B Kendry Morales hit a first-inning grand slam to give the Bees a 4-0 lead.  CF Brad Coon has reached base in 24 straight games.
ARKANSAS TRAVELERS (Class AA) - Texas League - Record 10-17, 4th
        RHP Fernando Rodriguez (1-3) pitched well in the Arkansas Travelers’ 2-1 win over the Tulsa Drillers (Colorado affiliate).  Rodriguez gave up one run on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six innings.  RHP Kevin Jepsen earned his fourth save, allowing one hit and one walk with two strikeouts in the ninth.  LF Coby Smith and RF Cliff Remole each had two hits.
RANCHO CUCAMONGA QUAKES (Class A) - California League - Record 10-18, 4th
        
        The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes swept a SeatSub Challenge 2008 Contestdoubleheader with the Lancaster Jethawks (Boston affiliate), winning 4-3 in the opener and 4-0 in the nightcap.  In Game 1, RHP David Herndon (1-3) limited the Jethawks to one run on five hits and no walks in six innings.  After RHP Aaron Cook gave up two runs in the ninth, RHP Sammy Leon got the final out for his first save.  DH Abel Nieves went 3-for-4 with two RBI.   In the second game, RHP Trevor Bell (2-2) went the distance for the victory.  He scattered four hits, did not walk a batter and struck out eight in the seven-inning contest.  CF Peter Bourjos was 3-for-4 with a double, two triples, three runs scored and one RBI.  
CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS (Class A) - Midwest League - Record 14-11, 4th
        The Cedar Rapids Kernels had the night off on Thursday and tonight will begin a three-game series at the Ft. Wayne Wizards (San Diego affiliate).
