Lancaster JetHawks Perform Fly-By On Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, Take 10-3 Win - Adv A, California League

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - ( LANCASTER , CA ) – The early going indicated a close, high-scoring game but as things turned out, the JetHawks were equally dominant as the previous night. Lancaster made it back-to-back wins in Rancho Cucamonga as they knocked a season-high eight extra base hits and held the Quakes in check for a 10-3 win.

The lead was traded in the first few innings. Lancaster led first on a Jason Place double and Lars Anderson single. The Quakes took the lead in the bottom of the first on a home run by Mark Trumbo, but the lead wasn’t held long. Following a Reid Engel double in the second inning, Aaron Reza tripled down the right field line. When Drew Toussaint’s throw got away, Reza scampered home to put Lancaster ahead.

The JetHawks took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. While Lancaster would add five more runs after the third, the Quakes were held scoreless on just two hits. Chris Jones earned his second win, fanning seven batters in six innings of work. Blake Maxwell hurled two scoreless innings and Josh Papelbon one.

Lancaster hitters tallied fifteen hits in the win. Jon Still led all hitters with three hits, including his team-high eighth home run of the season. Place, Jorge Jimenez, Anderson, Engel, and Reza each had two hits. Reza extended his hit streak to six straight.
