Harden recently made a rehab start with the Triple-A Sacramento River Cats on Thursday. He went 3.2 innings and allowed a run on three hits while striking out four. He began the season with the A’s, making two starts against the Boston Red Sox--one of those in Tokyo. With Oakland this season, he is 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA in 11 innings.
Harden was placed on the 15-day DL on April 10 retroactive to April 3 with a mild subscapularis strain in his right shoulder.
ADVERTISEMENT Injuries have limited Harden’s playing time over the last three years as he has five stints on the disabled list over that span, including two in each of the last two seasons. In 32 starts over the last three years, he is 15-7 with a 2.92 ERA in 38 games. In 2004, his only full season in the majors, he went 11-7 with a 3.99 ERA in 31 starts. He was originally drafted by the A’s in the 17th round of the 2000 draft.
