MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Winston-Salem, NC – An explosive opening two innings put the Wilmington Blue Rocks (12-17) in a 5-1 hole that proved too deep in a 7-3 loss to the Winston-Salem Warthogs at Ernie Shore Field on Sunday afternoon.  Matt Kniginyzky suffered the loss, dropping to 0-3.  The Canadian allowed five runs (four earned) on 10 hits over his five innings.  Miguel Vega slugged his first homer of the season, while shortstop prospect Chris McConnell enjoyed a 4-for-4 day at the plate, raising his batting average to a season-best .288.  The Blue Rocks dropped three of the four games on the series and short road trip.

The Blue Rocks return home to open a six-game, seven-day homestand on Monday night with the first of three against the Salem Avalanche. Wilmington will look to right-hander Jason Godin (1-1, 4.94) as its starter, while Salem slings southpaw SeatSub Challenge 2008 ContestDavid Qualben (1-3, 7.03).  First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. at Frawley Stadium with a special Cinco de Mayo celebration on tap.  Also, every Monday is Baseball Bingo Monday at Blue Rocks home games, with free bingo cards going to the first 1,000 fans at the park.
