The Bats batted around in the decisive second frame, taking advantage of some wildness from Norfolk starter Chris Waters (0-1). Waters allowed five runs on seven hits and five walks in five innings of work, striking out two. The 27-year-old, who led the Eastern League with five wins and a 1.69 ERA at the time of his promotion, threw 99 pitches - 50 for strikes.
Louisville put their leadoff batter on base in eight of nine innings, and pounded out 13 hits in the win.
