Mississippi Braves Oust West Tenn Diamond Jaxx - AA, Southern League
Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 09:06AM MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Jackson, TN - The Mississippi Braves snapped the Diamond Jaxx win streak at six games and sent the Jaxx into second place in the Northern Division with a 7-5 win over the Diamond Jaxx in the middle game of the five game series from Pringles Park.
With Mississippi down 5-3, the Braves scored two runs in the seventh inning to tie the game at five. Mark Jurich tied the game with a two out, two run single to center off losing pitcher Jason Mackintosh (1-2). The game was tied at five in the ninth inning when Jurich struck again with a run scoring double off Brodie Downs, giving the Braves a 6-5 lead. Jurich scored the insurance run on a single by Jose Camarena. Jurich finished the night with three hits and five RBI’s. Sung Ki Jung picked up the win in relief for the Braves. Jung (1-1) pitched a scoreless inning. Luis Valdez nailed down his fourth save of the season, allowing a hit while striking out two in the ninth inning.

ADVERTISEMENT Prentice Redman homered and drove in two runs to lead the Diamond Jaxx attack. Adam Moore chipped in with two hits and a RBI. Johan Limonta homered in his first Double-A start for the Diamond Jaxx, who fall one game behind Huntsville in the Northern Division.
Game four of the five game series takes place on Thursday night at 7:05 CDT. Lefty Justin Thomas (1-2 3.72) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Mississippi will counter with righty Brad Nelson (0-0 3.06).
