Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 08:50AM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Box Score attached. - Tucson , AZ – Two Sidewinder home runs and a gem by starter Evan MacLane gave Tucson a 5-1 victory over Sacramento on Monday night. The two hour and nine minute game was the shortest of the season for the Sidewinders.
Evan MacLane got his third win of the season pitching seven innings, allowing four hits, and one run, while striking out four batters.
Sacramento ’s Joe Gaetti put the River Cats ahead in the third inning with a solo shot to center field, his fifth for Sacramento .
Tim Raines, Jr. answered back in the third with a two-run homerun that gave the Sidewinders a 2-1 lead. Josh Whitesell added another two-run bomb in the sixth inning to extend Tucson ’s lead 4-1. Whitesell leads the Sidewinders in home runs with 15 on the season following the blast.
Tucson added one more in the seventh with a Tim Raines, Jr. RBI triple scoring Jesus Merchan from second. Reliever Emiliano Fruto replaced MacLane in the eighth and struck out four of the nine batters he faced to give the Sidewinders the win.
