Portland Beavers Dam Up Fresno Grizzlies 7-4 in 10th - AAA, Pacific Coast League
Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 12:26PM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - FRESNO, Calif. – Vincent Sinisi and Chase Headley each hit a homerun and Brian Myrow set a new Pacific Coast League record as the Portland Beavers defeated the Fresno Grizzlies 7-4 in extra innings on Friday at Chukchansi Park .
Down by two runs in the ninth inning, Sinisi delivered a two-run, pinch-hit home run to tie the game at 4-4 and force extra innings. Starting with Headley’s third home run in as many games, the Beavers (33-33) exploded for three runs in the 10th inning to hand Jesse Foppert (2-1) his first loss of the season.
Myrow set a new PCL record by reaching base in his 14th consecutive plate appearance with a single to right field in the first inning. The previous record of reaching base in 13 consecutive at bats was first set by Mickey Heath in 1930. Myrow was 2-for-5 on the night to extend his hitting streak to seven games.

Rodriguez missed 45 games with a right hook of hamate fracture … Venable extended his hitting streak to nine games … Myrow’s hit in the first inning broke a 78-year old PCL record first set by Heath in 1930 and then matched by Derrick White in 1998 who each reached base successfully in 13 consecutive plate appearances … The game-time temperature was 100 degrees.
