Northwest Arkansas Naturals Woes Continue in 10-5 Defeat at Hands of Tulsa Drillers

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Springdale, AR- The Northwest Arkansas Naturals looked to try and end their six-game skid against the Tulsa Drillers, but the Naturals couldn’t get things started early as they were drilled 10-5 Tuesday night in front of 3,999 at Arvest Ballpark.
 
The Tulsa Drillers (29-41) offense exploded for ten runs on the night.  Tony Blanco was the star of the night going 4-for-5 on the night with a home run and two doubles and five RBI in the game.  Jeff Dragicevich also chipped in with a 3-run bases clearing triple to put the game away for good.
 
Northwest Arkansas (33-36) scored early in the first, when Jose Duarte led off the inning with a double and Angel Sanchez singled in Duarte to put the Naturals on the board.  Irving Falu hit his first home run on the season, a shot to left in the fifth.  The Naturals scored two more runs in the eighth, when Angel Sanchez hit an RBI triple and then scored on Kila Kaaihue’s RBI groundout.  They added one final run in the ninth when Brian McFall led off with a triple and Mario Lission hit an RBI sacrifice fly, scoring McFall.
 

SeatSub Challenge 2008 Contest On the mound for the Drillers was right-hander Chaz Roe (1-0) who picked up his first Texas League victory of the season. He tossed seven innings, yielding two runs on five hits, punching out four batters and walking three.
 
Naturals’ starter Paul Mildren (2-5) suffered the defeat.  He went three innings, giving up four runs on six hits, fanning three batters and allowing four walks on the night.
