Durham Bulls Win Rainy One Over Norfolk Tides, Jeff Nieman Surrenders Only Two Hits in 6-0 Win - International League

MLN  Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - DURHAM, NC—On a night when the Bulls scored six times and swatted two home runs in six innings, the rain turned out to be the heaviest hitter of all Sunday at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, delaying the game twice before making a third appearance to put a premature end to a 6-0 Durham victory over the Norfolk Tides.

The Bulls came up with four runs in their first turn at bat, a rally highlighted by a two-run Ben Zobrist home run. Reid Brignac launched another two-run home run in the fourth inning, going 2-for-3 with three runs batted in on the evening.

Jeff Niemann (4-2, 4.17) went five innings, allowing two hits and five walks while striking out four to get the win. Hayden Penn (3-3, 4.60) could not last past the first inning for Norfolk, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks.
