Oklahoma RedHawks Edge Round Rock Express 4-3 in 12 Innings - AAA, Pacific Coast League
Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 09:45AM MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma RedHawks beat the Round Rock Express 4-3 in 12 innings Tuesday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark. Joaquin Arias hit a walk-off two run home in the bottom of the 12th to help the RedHawks rally for the victory.
Oklahoma took the lead in the fourth on Nelson Cruz's 23rd home run of the season, a solo shot off Round Rock starter Chad Reineke. The Express took a 2-1 lead with runs in the fifth and six innings; a lead that stuck until the RedHawks rallied to tie the score in the bottom of the eighth. With Jorge Sosa pitching, Cruz hit a sacrifice fly that scored Arias to tie the game 2-2. Round Rock threatened several times as the game advanced to extra innings. The Express would regain the lead in the top of the 12th when Yordany Ramirez doubled to start the inning and scored on a single by Edwin Maysonet. Former RedHawk Nick Regilio entered in a save situation and got the first two batters he faced to pop out. Drew Meyer singled to put the tying run on base, and moved to second on a Regilio balk. Joaquin Arias hit a 2-1 pitched down the left field line for his second home run and the RedHawks third walk-off win of the season, all of which have by 4-3 finals. Arias was also involved in the last walk-off win when he stole home on
Wes Littleton pitched the final inning to earn his sixth win of the season, matching Elizardo Ramirez for the team lead. Regilio took the loss for Round Rock, which has lost four of its last five. Oklahoma has won its last two series and are eight games over .500 for the first time since May 8th. The RedHawks have the next two days off and open a four-game, three day series in Omaha Friday evening at 7:05 pm.
