New Hampshire Fisher Cats Continue to Dominate the New Britain Rock Cats with 13-6 Pummeling

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – New Britain, CT – New Hampshire pounded out 17 hits – led by Scott Campbell and Travis Snider – en route to a 13-6 win over the Rock Cats. The Fisher Cats completed a three-game sweep. 

Campbell finished with a game-high four hits while Snider added three hits and three RBI. Both scored three runs apiece. 

New Hampshire’s Brandon Magee picked up his first win of the season. Magee (1-10, 6.04) allowed nine hits and five runs through six innings. 

Kyle Phillips put the Fisher Cats on the board with an RBI single in the second inning. In the third, the Fisher Cats jumped on Rock Cats starter Anthony Swarzak for four runs. Aaron Matthews (4 RBI) hit a two-run homer to start off the scoring. Brian Jeroloman added an RBI double. Eric Nielsen’s sacrifice fly scored Jacob Butler from third for a 5-0 advantage.

In the fourth, the Fisher Cats put three more runs on the board, including an RBI double by Jeroloman that extended the lead, 8-0.  

The Rock Cats fired back in the bottom of the fourth. Felix Molina’s triple scored Erik Lis, who reached on a double to start the inning, for the Rock Cats’ first run. Drew Butera delivered a two-run homer to left field and Dustin Martin added a solo shot to close the gap, 8-5.  

Snider and Butler hit back-to-back home runs in the eighth – with Snider’s being a two-run blast – as part of a four-run inning by the Fisher Cats. 

Swarzak (3-5, 5.63) was knocked in the fourth after surrendering eight runs on 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings. Toby Gardenhire and Dustin Martin each had three hits for the Rock Cats, with Martin falling a double shy of the cycle.
