Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 10:19AM MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – BINGHAMTON, NY- Connecticut took the lead early, but the Mets came back strong and edged out the Defenders by a final of 5-4.
The Defs hit up the run column first in the second as Pablo Sandoval doubled to start the frame. With two down and the leadoff two-bagger looking as if it may go to waste, Kyle Haines ripped a single to plate the backstopper and give Connecticut a 1-0 lead.
Ben Snyder, making his Defender debut on the rubber, got aboard in the top of the third on an error by the first baseman. Antoan Richardson drew a walk, Ryan Rohlinger sacrificed both runners into scoring position and Ben Copeland singled Snyder to the plate. Sandoval remained hot and knocked a single of his own to bring Richardson to the dish as the lead extended to 3-0.

ADVERTISEMENT The B-Mets wasted no time to respond to Connecticut’s outburst. In the home half of the third, Fernando Martinez launched a three-run homer to tie the game at 3-3.
Binghamton swung the game in their favor in the fourth when Salvador Aguilar helped his own cause with a bases loaded base knock that plated two as the Mets grabbed their first advantage of the day, 5-3.
Connecticut staged a late rally in the eighth as Adam Witter tapped an RBI goundout to the right side of the infield to score Rohlinger who advanced to third on a double off the stick of Ben Copeland to tighten things up, 5-4.
Snyder lost his first outing in Double-A, Aguilar earned his league leading ninth win and Eddie Kunz locked down save number 21 in a flawless ninth.
