Portland Beavers Defeat Sacramento River Cats 6-1 - AAA, Pacific Coast League
Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 08:58AM MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – West Sacramento, Calif. – The Portland Beavers held the River Cats offense to just a single run on Saturday night as Sacramento fell 6-1 in front of a crowd of 13,005 at Raley Field. Portland tallied 13 hits on the night, led by right fielder Chip Ambres who was 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI. River Cats starter Dan Meyer struggled, allowing five runs – four earned – in 5.0 innings off eight hits and a walk.
ADVERTISEMENT The River Cats scored their lone run of the game when Ryan Sweeney scored on a fielding error by Portland third baseman Tom King in the fifth inning. Portland starter Wade LeBlanc threw 6.0 innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits and three walks while striking out eight. Both Casey Rogowski and Ryan Sweeney had two hits apiece for Sacramento.
