Binghamton Mets Defeat Altoona Curve 7-3 - AA, Eastern League

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Altoona - Ambiorix Concepcion and Emmanuel Garcia each tripled and drove in three runs, helping the Binghamton Mets to a 7-3 win over the Altoona Curve at Blair County Ballpark Monday.  The win is Binghamton’s 22nd in their last 31 games.

The B-Mets (46-36) went ahead in the fourth, when Luis Muñoz walked Mike Carp, who moved to third on Caleb Stewart’s single and scored on Concepcion’s groundout to shortstop.  Altoona (35-46) responded in the bottom of the frame against Bobby Parnell, as Jason Delaney picked up a game-tying RBI single before James Boone hit a sacrifice fly that put the Curve ahead 2-1.  That was all Parnell (8-4) would allow over 6 2/3 innings.

Binghamton reclaimed the lead for good in the sixth.  Carp drew a leadoff walk before Stewart reached on an infield hit.  Concepcion drove both in with a triple to center that put the B-Mets up 3-2 and chased Muñoz (1-2).  Two batters later, Garcia tripled off reliever Dave Davidson, scoring Concepcion.  Garcia came in on Jose Coronado’s base hit through the left side for a 5-2 B-Mets advantage.

Concepcion led off the eighth with a single before Garcia reached Juan Mateo for a two-run homer.  Altoona scored the game’s final run on two Binghamton errors and a Jason Bowers RBI groundout off Eddie Camacho in the bottom of the eighth.
