Oklahoma RedHawks Sweep the Albuquerque Isotopes Despite Early Deficit in 3-2 Win

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – HIGHLIGHTSThe Oklahoma RedHawks beat the Albuquerque Isotopes 3-2 Thursday evening at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark to complete the four-game sweep.  Oklahoma tallied runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to counter an early 2-0 Isotopes lead.

Jason Wood singled with one out in the second inning and scored on Tagg Bozied's second home run of the series to give Albuquerque the lead.  Oklahoma would halve the deficit in the fifth when Drew Meyer scored on a double by Travis Metcalf.  The RedHawks tied the game in the sixth on a run-scoring double by Ryan Roberts.  John Mayberry singled in the eventual winning run in the seventh and put Oklahoma ahead 3-2.

Elizardo Ramirez (9-3) pitched seven innings and allowed just the two runs in the second.  Ramirez notched his ninth quality start in 14 chances in the RedHawks rotation this season.  Eulogio De La Cruz (9-5) surrendered all three runs and scattered four walks over his six-plus innings of work.  Oklahoma's Bill White and Kiko Calero pitched the final three innings to close out the contest, with Calero facing on batter, striking out Jason Wood to end the game for his first save as a RedHawk.

Oklahoma saw its pitching staff allow just five earned runs during the sweep, the RedHawks fourth of the season.  Oklahoma travels to Round Rock for a four-game set starting Friday night at 7:05 pm.
