MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Ft. Mill, SC – The Charlotte Knights beat the Richmond Braves 3-2 Sunday at Knights’ Stadium. The Knights scored the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and held of a Richmond rally in the ninth to deny the Braves back to back wins heading into the All Star Break.
The Braves took a 1-0 lead in the first on an RBI single by Brandon Jones. Richmond made in 2-0 in the third on an RBI single by Barbaro Canizares. Charlotte tied the game with a pair of runs in the fourth. Josh Fields knocked in one with a double and Danny Richar tied the game with an RBI double. In the eighth Fernando Cortez chased a run home with a single to put the Knights in front to stay. The Braves put the tying and go-ahead runs on base in the ninth but failed to execute a bunt and former R-Brave Jason Childers induced a game ending double play.

Ehren Wasserman picked up the win. Chidlers notched a save. Francisley Bueno took the loss. Carl Loadenthal and Barbaro Canizares had two hits each for the Braves.
