Lancaster JetHawks Rip San Jose Giants 6-2 - Advanced A, California League

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - LANCASTER , CA  – The two newest JetHawks didn’t waste any time welcoming themselves to their new club. Shortstop Yamaico Navarro had four hits and first baseman Mike Jones made a sparkling defensive play in their Lancaster debuts to help the JetHawks to a 6-2 win over the San Jose Giants.

Pitcher Chris Province continued his stellar pitching. The right-hander worked seven innings for the first time in his career, surrendering just run and scattering

four hits. Province has now won each of his last four starts and has given up just three runs in his last three games.

Down 1-0 early, it was Navarro who drove in the first JetHawks run of the game, tying it with his second straight double. The lead came to Lancaster in the fourth when newcomer Jones singled to start the frame. Aaron Reza singled to set up Reid Engel, who drove in Jones and Reza with a single to center field.

Zak Farkes hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to help push Lancaster farther ahead. Navarro finished the game 4-4 with two doubles and a RBI. Jones reached safely three times and Farkes had two hits.

The Giants have the best record in the league at 57-38, but that hasn’t intimidated the JetHawks. Lancaster has now won all four games between the two teams this season.

The JetHawks continue a six-game homestand Thursday morning against San Jose. Travis Beazley (4-9) starts for Lancaster while the Giants counter with Kevin Pucetas (7-0). The game starts at 11:00 AM. The radio coverage is broadcast live on Magic 1340 AM and online at www.JetHawks.com.

It is the Summer Splash Down at Clear Channel Stadium. There will be a beach theme, complete with the Splash Zone- where fans will get wet! Kids can participate in special water games, including a dunk tank where fans can try to soak JetHawks staffers.

Individual game tickets for all JetHawks home games, including playoff games, are available in person at the JetHawks Box Office Monday – Friday from 10 AM – 5 PM or Saturdays from 10 AM – 3 PM. Great ticket packages for multiple games are also available starting at just $56 for eight games. More information can be found on-line at www.JetHawks.com.
