Brandon Woods Two Homers Lead Salt Lake Bees to a 6-3 Victory Over the Fresno Grizzlies

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com –  Brandon Wood drove in three runs with two homers and a single to lead the Salt Lake Bees to a 6-3 win over the Fresno Grizzlies in game two of a doubleheader.  The Bees needed the win to earn a split, as Fresno took the opener 4-3.  Wood's first inning single gave Salt Lake a 2-0 lead and he added solo shots in the fifth and seventh innings.  Freddy Sandoval, Dee Brown and Matt Brown each drove in a run for the Bees.  Starting pitcher Kasey Olenberger pitched four scoreless innings, but Henry Bonilla (4-2) is credited with the win, depsite allowing two runs on three hits in one and one-third innings of work.

In game one, Victor Santos (5-3) tossed a seven inning complete game four hitter, as he struck out four and walked two.  Nate Schierholtz drove in all four runs for the Grizzlies with an RBI single in the first and a three run homer in the fifth.  Dustin Moseley (5-6) took the loss, as he allowed four runs on six hits in five and two-third innings with six strikeouts and three walks.  Wood broke up Santos' bid for a shutout with a three run homer in the seventh.
