Jamestown Jammers Earn 13-4 Victory Over State College Spikes - Short Season A, NY-Penn League

JAMESTOWN, NY – The Jamestown Jammers blasted five home runs in twoinnings to earn the 13-4 victory over the State College Spikes Monday
night at Russell Diethrick Park.
Cole White began the game with a lead-off single, extending his hitting
streak to 16 games. Calvin Anderson earned his seventh RBI of the series
with a single, scoring White and giving the Spikes (8-24) a one-run lead.
Chase d’Arnaud, Quincy Latimore and Mark Carver produced
back-to-back-to-back singles in the second inning, adding to the Spikes’
lead. D’Arnaud scored on Carver’s infield single and Latimore added
another run on White’s sacrifice fly.
The Jammers ((22-9) answered back in the bottom of the second, taking the
lead after hitting three home runs off Spikes’ starter Kyle McPherson.
Jamestown continued their assault in the third, adding three runs off two
more home runs.
Latimore and Carver both singled to lead off the fourth inning, with
Latimore scoring on David Rubinstein ground out. Latimore’s run marked
the final Spike to cross the plate Monday night.
Anderson continued his offensive surge, going 3-for-4 at the plate with
one RBI. Carver and Latimore each contributed two hits on the night as
well.
The Jammers produced three-run innings in the sixth and eighth innings,
insuring the victory for Jamestown. Starter Johnny Dorn (2-1) earned the
win for the Jammers, after pitching five innings. The righty allowed four
runs on nine hits while striking out three.
McPherson (1-2) walked away with the loss for the Spikes, going three
innings on the mound. McPherson allowed seven runs on eight hits,
including five home runs.
Rudy Owens made his first road and relief appearance, pitching 3.2 innings
and allowed three runs on four hits. The left-hander struck out three.
The Spikes will travel to Lowell to take on the Spinners tomorrow. First
pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., with the Spikes’ Game Day Show beginning at
6:50 p.m. All the action can be heard on the Spikes Radio Network,
95.3/3WZ. Maurice Bankston (0-4) will take the mound for the Spikes
against the Spinners’ Stolmy Pimentel (2-2).
