Fort Myers Miracle and Clearwater Threshers Game Suspended After 15 Innings

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com -

MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - CLEARWATER, F.L. – What do you get when you have a pitcher’s duel between two team, a one hour 25 minute rain delay and league curfew? You have a suspended Florida State League contest. The Fort Myers Miracle and Clearwater Threshers had to suspend play on Friday night/Saturday morning with a league curfew imposed at 1:00 a.m. with the score tied 2-2 headed to the 15th inning.

Both Miracle runs were tallied in the second inning as an RBI-double by Danny Santiestiban and fielding error by Orlando Guevara led to the pair of runs. Clearwater’s first run came from an RBI-single by Guevara in their half of the second, followed by the game-tying run in the ninth on a sacrifice-fly by Fidel Hernandez, right after a throwing error by Garrett Olson kept the contest alive.

Both teams will face a depleted bench and very little man power in the bullpens when play is resumed at 5:00 p.m. later tonight. The originally scheduled contest will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be a regular nine-inning game.
