Frederick Keys Have Dropped 10 of 14 Games to Open Second Half
Friday, July 4, 2008 at 12:16PM MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com -Frederick's struggles continued Thursday night as Winston-Salem scored the games final five runs as Frederick was defeated 6-2 at Ernie Shore Field. The long ball hurt the Keys again as the Warthogs stroked three home runs on the night.
Trailing 1-0 the Keys grabbed the lead in the third inning. C Mike Pierce sent a towering home run (3) to left field to tie the ballgame up. 3B Todd Davison then got an infield hit and moved to third base with two men out. Up came RF Brandon Tripp who singled to right field putting the Keys atop 2-1.
But Warthogs CF Paulo Orland led off the bottom of the third inning with a solo home run, his second of the night, and Winston-Salem never looked back.
They got a two-out two-run triple from 2B Joe Persichina to go on top, 4-2.

Keys 2B Chris Amador went 2-for-4 registering his first multi-hit game since June 2nd. Major League rehabber Randor Bierd threw another scoreless inning in his final appearance with Frederick.
