Norfolk Tides Edge Richmond Braves 6-4 in 14 Innings - AAA, International League
Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 02:30PM Richmond, VA – The Norfolk Tides beat the Richmond Braves 6-4 in 14 innings Friday at The Diamond. The Tides rallied back after squandering a three run ninth inning lead to beat the Braves in 14 innings for the second time this season.
The Braves grabbed a 1-0 lead in the fourth on an RBI single by Carl Loadenthal. The Tides scored twice in the sixth to move in front on a two-run single by Jeff Fiorentino following a balk and two walks. A second balk helped set the stage for a two run homer by Luis Terrero in the eighth that gave the Tides a 4-1 lead. Richmond tied the game in the ninth on a two-out, three-run home run by Enrique Cruz. The Tides took advantage of an error to fuel their game winning rally in the 14th. Tike Redman knocked in the go-ahead run with a single and scored on a double by Eider Torres.

ADVERTISEMENT Jim Miller picked up the win. Jonathan Rouwenhorst took the loss. Roberto Novoa notched a save. Terrero and Redman had three hits each for the Tides. Four Braves enjoyed two hit nights.
