South Atlantic League Hands Out Season Awards

MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com – St. Petersburg, FL- South Atlantic League President Eric Krupa announced the recipients of the 2008 South Atlantic League Outstanding Achievement Awards.  All 16 teams, along with the umpires, participated in the voting for these awards; which ranged from on field to front office accolades. 

Harold Craw, RiverDogs’ Director of Sales, was honored as a co-recipient of the Sales Executive of the Year Award.  Craw, a native of Chattanooga, TN, just completed his sixth season with the RiverDogs and his third as the Director of Sales.  Craw is responsible for overseeing the RiverDogs ticket and corporate sales departments.span class="full-image-float-right">



“Harold is the consummate professional and hard worker.  Nobody puts in more effort from the beginning of the sales process to the execution and follow up with the client; and the results Harold has continued to produce are a testament to his abilities” noted RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols.  “The award may say 2008 on it, but Harold has worked hard over each of the past six seasons in Charleston to earn this great honor from his peers in the league” Echols added.  
 
Craw was honored along with Luke Kuboushek of the Lexington Legends as Sales Executive of the Year.  The formal award ceremony will be on October 7 at the South Atlantic League Fall Meetings in Charleston, WV.

The complete list of 2008 South Atlantic League Outstanding Achievement Awards follows:

Club Merit Award:  The Greensboro Grasshoppers and the Greenville Drive have been selected as co-winners of this prestigious award, which is awarded for outstanding overall club operations.

General Manager of the Year:  Donald Moore of the Greensboro Grasshoppers and Mike Dunn of the Rome Braves have been selected by their peers as the co-winners of the General Manager of the Year award.

Female Executive of the Year:  Carol Gehr of the Hagerstown Suns was selected as the Female Executive of the Year.

Media Relations Director of the Year: Craig Deas of the Lake County Captains has been selected as the Media Relations Director of the Year.

Sales Executive of the Year:  Harold Craw from the Charleston RiverDogs and Luke Kuboushek of the Lexington Legends were selected as co-winners of the Sales Executive of the Year Award.

Community Relations Director of the Year:  Allison Moore from the Greensboro Grasshoppers was selected as the Community Relations Director of the Year.

Sports Turf Manager of the Year:  Greg Burgess of the Greenville Drive was named the 2008 Sports Turf Manager of the Year in the South Atlantic League.

Best Playing Field Award:  Flour Field at the West End, home of the Greenville Drive, was also awarded the 2008 Best Playing Field Award.

Athletic Trainer of the Year Award:  Patrick Wesley of the Delmarva Shorebirds has been selected as the 2008 South Atlantic League Athletic Trainer of the Year by his peers in the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS).  This is the second year in a row that Patrick has been selected for this honor.

Bat Person of the Year Award:  Anthony Odom from the Kannapolis Intimidators and Griffin Worley from the Rome Braves were selected as co-Bat Persons of the Year.
