Gwinnett Gladiators Keep Mississippi Sea Wolves Ashore and Beat them 6-2 - ECHL

MLN Newswire - mlntherawfeed.com - BILOXI , MS The Gwinnett Gladiators defeated the Mississippi Sea Wolves by a score of 6-2 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on Thursday evening .

Gwinnett got on the board first as Stuart MacRae picked up the rebound of a shot from Scott Lehman at 3:17 of the second period. Lance Monych drew the Sea Wolves even at 9:02 of the 2nd when he took a pass from Mark Rooneem and beat Gwinnett goaltender Craig Kowalski up high. Rooneem would give the Sea Wolves a 2-1 lead when he poke-checked the puck through Kowalski’s legs and into the Gladiators net while the Sea Wolves were shorthanded at 11:27. Andy Brandt drew Gwinnet square with his first goal of the season at the 18:25 mark of the second.

Derek Nesbitt scored the first of his two third-period power play goals at 6:56 when he broke in down the right wing and unloaded a shot that beat Morgan Cey on the glove side. His second came at 9:58 when he fired a one-timer off a pass from Jeff Campbell past Cey with the Gladiators on a two-man advantage. At 13:44, Lou Dickenson scored on a breakaway when Ryan Mahrle sprung him a pass at the far blueline. Mike Hamilton closed the scoring with another power-play goal for Gwinnett at 15:19.
