In Wednesday’s action, Jean-Francois Jacques and Fredrik Johansson each scored twice and Devan Dubnyk made 42 saves as Springfield doubled up Lowell, 4-2... Providence rallied for two third-period goals and prevailed over Hartford in a shootout, 4-3... Mark Cullen notched the game-winner with 39 seconds left to give Grand Rapids a 3-2 win over Lake Erie.

LOOKING AHEAD:
The AHL’s top two teams lock horns in Rhode Island on Friday when Chicago (17-4-1-0) visits Providence (18-3-2-0)... The teams have not met since Feb. 22, 2002, a 4-3 Wolves win at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center... The Bruins rank second in the league averaging 3.65 goals per game; the Wolves are third at 3.59... Chicago is also third defensively (2.36) while Providence is sixth (2.61)... Pascal Pelletier leads the P-Bruins in goals (11) and points (24)... T.J. Trevelyan has 10 goals on the year (10-5-15) and a point in four straight outings (3-1-4)... Former Bruin Jason Krog, who boasts a seven-game scoring streak (3-8-11), paces the Wolves with 26 points on the year (9-17-26)... Brett Sterling has scored 13 goals in 14 games, tied for second in the league.

Binghamton visits North Division opponents Hamilton, Toronto, and Rochester this weekend... The Senators enter at 5-0-1-1 in their last seven games, scoring 28 goals in that span...
Denis Hamel leads the AHL with 16 goals on the season, including at least one in four straight games... Rookie Alexander Nikulin has one goal and three assists in two games since returning from parent-club Ottawa... Jeff Glass (8-4-1) continues to lead the league in both GAA (1.80) and save percentage (.940)... Hamilton, with just three wins in 11 games at Copps Coliseum this season (3-5-0-3), has not played since a 6-0 loss to Philadelphia on Nov. 30... Sergei Kostitsyn paces the Bulldogs and is tied for sixth among AHL rookies with 19 points (5-14-19).

An East Division battle on Friday pits Hershey at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton... The Bears, 8-1-0-1 in their last 10 games, saw leading scorer
Joe Motzko (10-5-15) recalled by the Washington Capitals on Friday morning... Chris Bourque, who is second on the Bears in goals (8) and points (13), has recorded two goals and two assists) in three games this season against the Penguins... Wilkes-Barre has won three in a row and enters the weekend one point behind Hershey in the standings... Chris Minard has points in five of his last six games (3-3-6) and netted a hat trick in the Pens’ opening-night win over the Bears on Oct. 3... Ty Conklin is tied for the league lead with 11 wins and has posted a 1.62 GAA while winning his last three starts.
