MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Omaha , NE Nathan Oystrick scored just 17 seconds into overtime as the Chicago Wolves beat the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights 5-4 at the Civic Auditorium. The Wolves spoiled a two-goal comeback by the Knights in the third period.

Omaha led 1-0 after one on a goal by Dustin Boyd . He backhanded a pass from Brad Ference past goalie Michael Garnett for his team leading 23rd goal of the year.

The Wolves took over the game in the second period. The AHL’s leading scorer, Darren Haydar, tied the game on a delayed penalty just 3:24 into the stanza. The Knights got into penalty trouble right after the goal, and Haydar scored again on a five-on-three to make it 2-1.

Late in the period, Brett Sterling forced a turnover in the Knights’ zone. He finished off a pass from Jason Krog for his AHL-leading 50th goal of the year to give Chicago a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

The Knights responded promptly in the third period when Cam Cunning banged home a pass from Andrei Taratukhin to trim the lead to a goal.

Chicago got the lead back to two when Jordan LaVallee knocked in the rebound of a wraparound chance by Corey Larose.

The Knights kept pressing and made it 4-3 when Kris Chucko followed the rebound of his own shot and knocked home his eleventh goal of the year.
