MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com – Augusta, GA – Garett Bembridge scored twice in regulation and the lone goal in the shootout for the Augusta Lynx as they came from behind to down the South Carolina Stingrays 6-5 Thursday night.

Trailing 5-2 entering the third period, Augusta rallied with three goals to tie the game and send it past regulation. Greg Watson picked off an errant pass in the slot and waited Davis Parley down to the ice at 7:42 to kick off the rally with an unassisted tally.

Bembridge followed with his second of the night from Ken Scuderi and Aaron Slattengren at 12:14, scoring from an off-angle on the left wing side with a wrist shot over the blocker on Parley.

Mike Erickson took a cross-ice feed from Watson and rifled a wrist shot past Parley’s left ear to tie the game with exactly four minutes remaining.

From there, a scoreless overtime gave way to a shootout where Bembridge recorded the only goal in round four, while Dave McKee stopped all five shooters faced.

Bembridge opened the scoring at 11:07 with a power play goal from Weston Tardy and J.B. Bittner, walking out in front of the Stingrays goal and wrapped the puck around Parley on the glove side for his 15th of the season.

South Carolina would then score four consecutive goals, two from Chris Chaput, to forge a 4-1 lead just 5:25 into the second period.

Slattengren cut the lead in half at 12:03 from Joe Pereira and Ken Scuderi, putting home a rebound off Pereira’s point blast into a wide open net to make it 4-2.

Later in the period, Micheal Haley would record his first pro goal for the Stingrays at 16:14 from Donny Grover and Evan Schwabe, ringing a wrist shot in off the far post past McKee.
