MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - Providence , RI – The Providence Bruins played strong defense but suffered their third consecutive defeat, 1-0 at the hands of the Hartford Wolf Pack Sunday afternoon at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. The game put a cap on the season series with the Wolf Pack taking six of the 10 contests.

The P-Bruins, still third in the Atlantic Division and now three points behind the Wolf Pack for second place, allowed the only goal of the game midway through the second period after winger Alex Bourret posted up in front of Hannu Toivonen’s net and fisted a shot to the netminder’s left for a one-goal Hartford advantage. The goal, Bourrett’s 13th of the season, came at the 11:57 mark of the middle frame as assists were earned by linemates Brandon Dubinsky and Nigel Dawes.

Other than the one miscue, Toivonen was perfect, stopping 25 of 26 shots and earning the third star of the game. Wolf Pack goalie Al Montoya blocked all 36 shots he faced for his 22nd win of the year.

Penalty minutes were a non-factor as each team was assessed six minutes while both sides were scoreless in three power play attempts apiece.
