SERIES HISTORY:
Tonight is Game 4 of the First Round of the 2006-2007 Kelly Cup Playoffs. After their 4-2 win Friday night at The Nest, the Condors trail the series, 2-1.
The Condors came out strong Friday night, scoring the first goal and leading in a game for the first time in the series when David Kudelka tallied just 48 seconds into the game. Kevin St. Jacques followed Kudelka's lead and knocked home a power play goal at 9:51 to give the Condors a 2-0 lead after the first.
Fresno scored a power play goal in the second period to pull within 2-1. Early in the third, Rane Carnegie banged in a rebound for his first career playoff goal and a two-goal margin, but the Falcons came back with one of their own to tighten the gap again.
With the score still 3-2 Condors, and Bakersfield down a man, Fresno pulled their goalie for an extra skater and a six-on-four advantage. After Mike Hofstrand got the puck out of the defensive zone, Kudelka was able to send a clearing drive down the ice and into the empty net to clinch the win in front of 7,219, the largest home playoff crowd in Condors history.
After two home games, the Condors lead the ECHL in total attendance (11,428), had the largest single-game crowd (7,219), and are second in average attendance (5,714).
Promotional Notes:
If necessary, the Condors will bring the series back to The Nest for games 6 and 7 of the National Conference Quarterfinals.
