MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - The Philadelphia Phantoms blanked the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 3-0 before 4,121
fans at Philly's Wachovia Spectrum on Wednesday night. The Sound Tigers dropped
to 34-34-1-5 and the Phantoms improved to 30-37-2-6.
Three different Phantoms scored and goalie Scott Munroe made 22 saves. Eric
Meloche opened the scoring with a power play goal when he beat Sound Tigers'
goaltender Michael Mole with a shot that caromed off the post at 17:21 of the
opening period. Jared Ross and Jonathan Matsumoto assisted Meloche's 11th goal
of the year. The Phantoms added to their lead when Frederik Cabana jammed home
his fifth goal during a scramble in front of the net at 9:28 of the second
period. David Printz and Mark Cullen assisted the second Phantoms' goal.
Matsumoto capped the scoring with his second of the season, unassisted, at 2:43
of the third.
Mole stopped 22 of 25 shots in his second straight start. The Sound Tigers were
0-for-7 on the power play and the Phantoms were 1-for-5 on the man advantage.
