MLN Newswire - www.mlntherawfeed.com - LAKE ST. LOUIS , MO --- The participants for the 2007 United Hockey League (UHL) Colonial Cup Playoffs have been set and eight teams will begin the quest for the UHL's ultimate prize next week. With six of the seeds being determined prior to this week’s play, only the top two seeds in the Western Conference were still to be determined. By virtue of back-to back wins, including a 3-2 shootout win over the Muskegon Fury tonight, the Fort Wayne Komets clinched the top seed in the West.

The top four teams in each conference will face off in Round One of the playoffs with the top seed playing the fourth seed and the second seed meeting the third-seeded team. The winners of each series will play for the conference championship and for the opportunity to compete in the Colonial Cup Finals. All four best-of-seven series in Round One will begin next week.

The match-ups for the opening round are as follows:

Eastern Conference

#1 Muskegon vs. #4 Port Huron

#2 Kalamazoo vs. #3 Flint

Western Conference

#1 Fort Wayne vs. #4 Chicago

#2 Rockford vs. #3 Quad City
