Rockford, Ill.- After going 1-for-14 on the advantage in the last three games, the Rockford IceHogs beat the Toronto Marlies 3-1 at the Rockford MetroCentre thanks in part to two power-play goals from Petri Kontiola. Martin St. Pierre assisted on all three IceHogs goals in the winning effort.
His first came at 12:54 in the second frame with a nearly perfect set up from St. Pierre and a secondary assist from Derek Nesbitt. The center followed with a 4-on-3 goal at 16:44 thanks to another centering feed St. Pierre and Troy Brouwer.
Nesbitt added an even-strength marker at 10:30 in the third with assists from St. Pierre and Jim Fahey. This game is the winger's second multi-point game since joining the club last month.
