Marty Magers of Port Huron Icehawks Named IHL Goaltender of the Week
Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 09:30AM MLN - THE RAW FEED - www.mlntherawfeed.com - PORT HURON, Mich. – Port Huron Icehawks goalie Marty Magers was named the Southern Sports Supply Goaltender of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 16, the International Hockey League announced Monday.
Magers had a strong weekend, posting back-to-back shootout wins versus Bloomington on Friday and Saturday. The netminder held the PrairieThunder scoreless through two overtime stanzas and two shootout periods, allowing only three goals against in 130:00 minutes.

ADVERTISEMENT The 24-year old Chicago, Illinois native finished the weekend with a .939 save percentage and 1.38 goals against average, making a total of 46 saves.
Magers has won three of his last five starts for Port Huron. He currently holds a record of 11-10-0-2 and is ranked fourth among league goaltenders in goals against average with a 2.96 GAA.
The goalie also took home league honors in week seven this season.
Other players winning league honors this week were Muskegon right wing Robin Bouchard (Forward of the Week), Muskegon left wing Dan Riedel (Rookie of the Week) and Flint defenseman Shaun Fisher.
